In My World
Little did my seven-year-old daughter suspect that we were doing school while on a family vacation/camping trip. She was coloring a lovely picture complete with a rainbow and floral sprinkled fields when she said, "In my world, everything would be sweets."
Oh, this is going to be good, I thought. So I grabbed a pen and sat down next to her. "Tell me about it," I told her.
And this is what we wrote together:
All the rocks would be strawberries
and the buttercups would be cupcakes.
All the roses would be cherries
and the rainbows would be cookie rainbows.
The sky would be fruit roll-ups --- blue, of course.
Some of the flowers would be gumdrops
and the rain would be chocolate bars and milk shakes.
The fire could be hot Cheetos
and the clouds would be made of cotton candy.
The snow would be marshmellows
and the grass would be coconut dyed green.
What a lovely, delicious world that would be.
